Our Approach
We don't fix broken relationships. We excavate the connection that's been buried under stress, old patterns, and unspoken wounds — then we build something more intentional in its place.

The Practitioner
LMFT · Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Before Dr. Sarah Chen became a therapist, she was a partner navigating the same turbulence her clients describe. That journey — full of fear, rupture, and ultimately radical repair — is the foundation of her entire practice. She doesn't approach your pain from a textbook. She approaches it from lived experience, fortified by the most rigorous training in the field.
After earning her doctorate from UC Berkeley and completing advanced certification in both Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, Sarah established Hearth & Haven with a singular mission: to create a space where transformation isn't a hope — it's the expectation.
Every session draws on the science of attachment, the neurobiology of emotion, and the Gottman Institute's 40-year research into what makes relationships thrive. But the magic — the thing that produces real breakthroughs — is something no curriculum teaches: an uncanny ability to hear what isn't being said.
Sessions are rigorous and warm. Challenging and safe. Sarah will ask you the questions you've been avoiding — and hold you with enormous care as you find the answers.
